Safe Extraction and Storage of Fuel

The safe use, handling and storage of flammable and explosive substances is critical in an automotive workshop or ELV depollution workplace. Fires and explosions cause serious property damage in motor vehicle workshops and ELV stations, and can result in death or serious injury. Mostly, they involve the mishandling of petrol when draining fuel tanks and lines, but incidents can also occur during hot work.

This training offers awareness of the hazards and risks associated with drilling and extracting flammable fuels from vehicles, as well as highlighting how to safely store these fuels after recovery.

Highlight and explain the whole vehicle depollution and dismantling process.
Identify and operate all the various depollution equipment, tooling and apparatus including:

Fuel tank drilling machine
Gearbox drilling machine
Hydraulic tilting vehicle ramp
Waste oil funnels arm for fuel and oil removal
Brake fluid pliers and fluid extractor
Shock absorber drill and fluid removal tool
Tank farm
Coolant lances and wiper fluid removal and recovery tools
Catalytic converter cutting tool
Air conditioning recovery unit

This course will take approximately 4 hours to complete, and is comprised of 35 slides, including videos and quizzes.
